A Whopper Fish Story
The Story
Aaron and I are thrilled to announce that we got engaged on Saturday, March 11, 2006!
We had planned to go to the ranch in Jourdanton that weekend.
Saturday morning after eating
some delicious breakfast tacos at the Rock House in Jourdanton, he said
he wanted to head back to the ranch and fish for an hour or so at the
tank. Said he had some new fishing supplies he wanted to use (not
uncommon).
As I fished at one end of the
tank and him at the other, I thought "What a beautiful day!" There are
so many days when it's blistering hot or bone-chilling cold!
The Plan
After I caught what I thought
must be a HUGE fish, I reeled in an old dead branch. Aaron could
see I was getting frustrated and is always very accommodating with me
when we're fishing. So, he brought over a different pole for me
to use and said "Here, try this one."
The Hook
When I turned around, I saw that he had the most beautiful engagement ring tied to the end of the fishing line!!!
I dropped my pole and was completely speechless (yes, ME, completely speechless)!
Those of you who know us well,
know that the way he proposed was absolutely perfect - for both of us.
It's very much our "style."
So, that's the good news! We don't have a date set yet - I think we're both waiting to come down from cloud 9!
